(The next 25 for 25 will be the Autumn Seasonal ... you'll have details when we do, so watch this space!)

There's loads of exciting work going on behind the scenes in Turl Street, by the diverse bunch of food-lovers, TSK customers, sustainable design experts, gardeners, Oxford Hub staff and volunteers, writers, local residents, researchers, campaigners, permaculturalists, TSK staff, photographers who make up the...

Turl Street Sustainability Team, which has a number of ongoing projects:

The Food Mappers form an investigative crack team working to track down new suppliers for Turl Street Kitchen. Their work also involves delectable tasting sessions, and farm-visits and field-trips to get to know our suppliers.

The Terrace Designers are visionaries working to transform our terrace just upstairs into an educational, inspirational and recreational space.

The Carbon Cutters are working on how to turn the building - the whole building, not just the restaurant - into a low-carbon space. We're a little tired of switch-it-off stickers, so we're working on more creative ways to communicate our values and to get the building-users involved in slashing the building's footprint. We're also looking into gadgets and gismos (from sub-meters to solar panels...) to improve the building's environmental performance.

The Waste Busters aren't satisfied with simply recycling waste. In fact they don't believe in waste at all. They run upcycling workshops to transform everyday refuse into beautiful and useful objects. Watch this space for upcoming sessions to refashion old clothes into cushions for the TSK, and turn our wine bottles into glass beakers! Every now and again, they get down and dirty with the building's waste streams too - we've even got a comprehensive waste audit in the pipeline...

Everyone is welcome to join in any of our activities at any stage - just email doireann@turlstreetkitchen.co.uk to find out how to get involved.
