"This was the real, hair-raising thing. What was also abundantly clear was how familiar Elizabeth Garner— whose readings interspersed the set— was with the canon, confidently responding to the songs and interacting with the musicians, her words perfectly complimenting their music. The overall impression of the event was of something both contemporary and timeless, playful in the way only those deeply versed in a tradition can be."
